LB Paving Ltd. is part of the Colas Canada group of companies. We are a full service paving contractor offering asphalt paving, grade work and repairs. Our projects include residential, commercial, industrial and government contracts (municipal, provincial and regional district). Jobs range from asphalt patching to airport and highway construction. We service the region of Hwy 16 east of Burns Lake to west of Kitwanga and Hwy 37 North to Dease Lake and beyond and Hwy 37A into Stewart.
LB Paving has operated continuously in the Town of Smithers since 1981 and became part of the Colas Canada group of companies in the early 1990s.
In 2012, and every year since then, LB Paving received the coveted Diamond Achievement Commendation from the National Asphalt Pavement Association in Asphalt Plant/Site Operations. The commendation recognizes responsible operational practices and continuous improvement. The commendation came as a result of the modifications to the Smithers Plant to allow the utilization of recycled products in our asphalt mixes. We recycle approximately 10,000 tonnes of asphalt and gravel per year into our asphalt mixes and into base gravel products, preserving precious resources and keeping all of this material out of our landfills.
LB Paving has been recognized twice in recent years for its high-quality work. It received the Deputy Minister’s Contractor of the Year Award for Best Paving Project in 2010 and was a joint finalist with Pittman Asphalt for the 2008 award.
